"Torus" Currency Unit (plural: "Tori")
INTENDED USE:
Universal currency utilized throughout the TangleVerse. Each location has it's own unique version and value, utilizing local materials and referencing local culture
CORE DESIGN SPECS:
Each Tori must meet the following specifications...
Shape: Classic torus (doughnut shape)
Outer Diameter: 24.26 mm (equivalent to a U.S. quarter)
Inner Diameter (central void): 10 mm
Cross-Sectional Diameter (thickness of the ring): 7 mm
Edge Tapering: a slight chamfer (0.5 mm) on both inner and outer edges is permitted for comfortable handling and a polished appearance
Finish: Textures, beveling or etching can vary per material and local Geo. Should be tactile but not overly rough
Tolerance: Maintain ±0.2 mm on all measurements
Durability: Must withstand frequent handling
Optional Embellishments (per variant):
Etched Glyph Ring: Subtle engraving along the outer or inner ring (symbols may change based on Geo or World)
Embedded Magnetism: Light magnetic properties for stacking or tool interaction are permitted
Glow Inlay: Small inlay groove (0.5 mm deep) along the inner rim to hold luminescent paint or resin is permitted
MATERIAL VARIANTS:
The Tori may be cast or printed in various materials, each representing a different "value" or lore significance. Base materials and finishes may include...
Metal: All non-toxic metallic materials such as gold, silver, copper, platinum, aluminum, etc. are permitted. Textured matte to polished chrome
Stone or Stone-Resin Composite: A grounded, earthy variant from stone extracted from local quarries. Textured to glossy polished gemstone finishes are permitted.
Translucent Glass, Acrylic or Crystal: An ethereal variant often used for dream or sky realms.
Wood: Organic, tree-based. Hard woods preferable to soft woods.
Clay or Ceramic:Â Sun-dried or kiln-born, depending on the local cultural traditions and technological capabilities.
